No need to hibernate! Family Day is a great excuse to get out and explore nature in winter. Bring your boots, cross-country skis, snowshoes, toboggan and/or skates; skis and snowshoes are also available for rent (unless we have no snow). Be sure to check out the Visitor Centre between 10AM-5PM on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, and take in a fun nature program with your friends and family!
Saturday – 11AM-12PM (Visitor Centre): Ask the Naturalist about…White-tailed Deer!
2PM-3PM (Visitor Centre): Ask the Naturalist about…Feeder Birds!
6:30PM (Visitor Centre/Cedar Trail): OWL PROWL – indoor presentation on Pinery’s owls, followed (weather-permitting) by a “prowl” on the Cedar Trail
Sunday – 11AM-12PM (Visitor Centre): Ask the Naturalist about…Turtles’ Hurdles!
3PM (Visitor Centre): Special Film Screening – Mysteries of the Great Lakes (45 min)
Monday – 11AM-12PM (P9 Day Use Beach): Chickadee Feeding with a Naturalist (seed provided)
1PM-3PM (Chalet): Family Day Campfire – Warm up by the fire and chat with a Naturalist about Pinery’s winter-wise wildlife!
ALL WEEKEND – Grab your friends and family to head out on an adventuresome scavenger hunt! Pick up your challenge sheet at the Visitor Centre.
