Over twenty-eight U12 Ringette teams will compete in the tournament which is expected to draw between 2000 – 2500 people to the area. This is the first time Forest Ringette Association has hosted a provincial level tournament.
Games will be played at The Shores Recreation Centre in Forest, The Legacy Centre in Thedford, The Watford Arena in Watford, and The Gemini Sportsplex in Strathroy. The Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia will host the tournament’s Opening Ceremonies on March 2, 2017.
Each year the U12 Provincial Petite Tournament host community chooses a theme which is depicted in the tournament logo, opening ceremonies and memorabilia. Tournament theme ideas were submitted to a committee, the winning theme for 2017 will be ‘Keepin’ It Country – Shine at the Shores’.
Organizing Committees are currently in the planning stages of preparing for the tournament. More information will be posted on Forest Ringette Association website as it becomes available. The Volunteers Coordinator says the FRA is looking for approximately 100 volunteers.
