Area audiences will experience a joyful start to the holiday season, when the International Symphony Orchestra presents their traditional Festive Celebration, “Christmas Greens”.
These gala events are taking place on Friday, December 1st, 7:30 p.m., Hillside Wesleyan Church, Clyde Township, MI, and Saturday, December 2nd, 7:30 p.m., Temple Baptist Church, Sarnia.
Under the baton of Maestro Douglas Bianchi, the International Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Singers, and special guest artist, Dr. David Troiano, will be featured in these popular seasonal performances.
Selections will include: favourite Christmas choruses and arias from Handel’s The Messiah, featuring tenor David Troiano; excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s much-loved, The Nutcracker Ballet Suite No.1; Christmas Greens – a fresh and charming setting of carols for tenor soloist, chorus and full orchestra by ISO resident composer, Charles Stephens; the sparkling Troika, from Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé Suite; Bach’s inspirational Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring; the powerful and dramatic Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed, and much more holiday fun!
