Bluewater International Granfondo Slow Roll

June 4, 2023
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

What is a Slow Roll? It’s a large group bike ride with a twist – the point is not to race but to relax with good company and enjoy a leisurely ride. Slow Rolls have become popular in cities across North America because the rides appeal to a diverse audience and does not require specialized equipment or training.Spandex can be left at home and everyone is welcome!

The Bluewater International Granfondo (B.I.G.) Slow Roll is a large, free, and inclusive community 10km bike ride dedicated to contributing to the growth of bicycle culture in the Sarnia Lambton area. Founded by B.I.G and organized locally by volunteers, the goal is to further cycling not only as a health initiative, but also to help enhance Sarnia’s image as a cycling community.

The B.I.G Slow Roll is open to all regardless of age, experience, ability, or type of bike. With a slow pace and volunteer squad that keeps riders safe and social, it is more than just a bike ride – it is a conduit to bring people from all walks of life together and connect our community.

The ride will feature a unique downtown route infused with music from live bands along the way. There will be one stop to regroup at Germain Park before returning for an afterparty with food, drinks, music and fellowship.

Our presenting partner, Kel-Gor Limited, nuSarnia Foundation, and many other generous community partners help to keep the B.I.G. Slow Roll free for everyone!

Funds raised will support Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Palliative Care in our community.
